I have revised my script because it was too long, so now it should be able to fit the 30 seconds during narration. It meant I also needed to cut a few scenes back:
Narration:
(scene of hands stamping paper) subtitles: year - 1971
Voice: The Buzludzha monument was founded to commemorate ten years since the formation of the local socialist regime
(scene of hands building monument, pans around) subtitles: year - 1974
Voice: Over six thousand people constructed it, and it cost fourteen million levs to build
(camera turns around star) subtitles: year - 1977
Voice: The tower’s star is lit, honoring sixty years since the great October revolution
(skip to opening day scene with crowd) subtitles: August 1981
Voice: thousands of people attended the opening of the monument.
(people walk up to building for a couple of seconds – layered and then ripped flag is seen – doorway shot) subtitles: year - 1989
Voice: Bulgaria’s communist party dissolves, the building no longer serves a purpose.
(shows interior roof/floor/walls decaying - light fading?) subtitles: 1995-1996 monument decays, stripped by vandals
(establishing silhouette shot of building at night, light goes out)
Voice: Neglect now leaves this ‘Pantheon of Bulgaria,’ to the elements.
